How to Install the Live Chat Using Google Tag Manager

Last updated on Apr 16, 2025

If your website uses Google Tag Manager (GTM), you can easily install the Akece live chat widget by creating a custom tag. This allows you to add the chat without touching your website's source code.

Follow the steps below to complete the setup:

Step 1 – Open Google Tag Manager

Log in to your Google Tag Manager account.

In your Workspace, click Add a new tag.

Step 2 – Create a new custom HTML tag

  • Name your tag something clear.
    Example: Chat – Akece

  • Click on Tag Configuration, then choose Custom HTML.

  • Go to your Website Inbox settings in Akece and copy the chat widget code.

  • Paste the code into the HTML field.

  • Check the box that says Support document.write.

Step 3 – Set the tag trigger

  • Click on Triggering.

  • Select All Pages, so the chat appears across your entire website.

  • Click Save.

You’ll now see the new tag listed under Workspace Changes.

Step 4 – Publish the tag

  • Click the Submit button at the top of the page.

  • Enter a version name (e.g., Akece Chat Installation).

  • Click Publish to apply the tag on your website.

That’s it! The Akece live chat is now installed and visible on all pages of your site. Just refresh your site to see the widget in action.
